While UPES is a very good college that has very good placements, faculty and infrastructure SMVDU Katra is GFTI but because of its location it is not so good as UPES. Although if you want to pursue your B.Tech. from a government college or the high fees of UPES is an issue for you than you can go for SMVDU otherwise UPES will be the best choice. Hope this helps.
