To become Software Engineer you should do undergraduation degree. So to get admission in Undergraduation degree you should write entrance exams like JEE Mains, MHT CET etc. Most of the colleges and Universities gives admission based on State level entrance exams or Central level entrance exams or University entrance exams.
You can choose either JEE Mains exam or MHT CET to get admission into College. But using JEE Mains rank you can get admission into NITs or IIITs or Private Engineering Colleges which accepts JEE Mains rank belonging to any state.
Using MHT CET you only get admission into Colleges in Maharashtra. It is advised to write both the exams to get more chances of getting good colleges. Through which ever exam you can get admission into good college you can go with that exam rank if you write both the exams.
