The placements in electrical engineering in IIT is good and stands next to computer science, you don't need to bother much about it if your CGPA is good . If you get into a core company then your salary might be around Rs. 8 to 12lakhs per annum  , for non core company it might be around Rs 4 to 6 lakhs per annum.  If you have done some minor or major projects and have done some small internship then it will become an advantage for you to get in a core company.

The placement records  of different IITs are different . Since you have not mentioned the name of any particular IIT. I am providing you the information on a general basis. The placements of almost all the IITs are good and of IIT Khargapur , roorkee or you can say the top IITs have appreciable placements with an average package of 10-12 lpa for VLSI/RF specialization while it is 5-7 lpa for control and automation engineering . Companies like intel ,  ABB , QUALCOMM etc come to IITs for top recruitments.

The placemenrs of EE are just next to CS placements in terms of placement percentage.
