The syllabus for PUMDET is as follows:

• Applied Economics : Under Graduate Economics (Major/Honours) courses in Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Mathematical Economics, Statistics and Econometrics.
• English :Under Graduate English (Honours) syllabus of Presidency University or its equivalent of any recognised Indian University.
• Political Science : Under Graduate Political Science (Honours) syllabus of Presidency University or its equivalent of any recognised Indian University.
• History :Topics on Ancient Indian history, medieval Indian history, modern Indian history, post-1947 South Asian history, world history, antiquity to the early modern period, world history, the modern period up to the twentieth century.
• Hindi :Under Graduate Hindi (Honours) syllabus of Presidency University or its equivalent of any recognised Indian University.
• Geography :Under Graduate Geography (Honours) syllabus of Presidency University or its equivalent of any recognised University.
• Sociology :Standard BA Sociology Hons syllabus of Presidency University or equivalent of any recognised Indian University.
• Bengali :Under Graduate Bengali (Honours) syllabus of Presidency University or its equivalent of any recognised Indian University.
• Philosophy :Topics on Philosophy (Epistemology and Metaphysics), Western Philosophy (Epistemology and Metaphysics), Western Logic, Analytic Philosophy, Ethics and Philosophy of Religion.

The questions will be asked from physiology, biostatistics, etc.
Also, there will be application based questions. The questions will test your practical knowledge, so study according to that.
