The simplest and most economical way to reach NITPY is Bus Routes from Puducherry and Chennai pass through the Institute (to stop at Thiruvettakudy Arch) to reach Karaikal Bus Stand.From Karaikal Railway Station. An auto can be hired for a fare of minimum Rs.100/- to directly reach the NITPY Campus.

The nearest Railway Station to reach Karaikal is located in Nagore which is just 15 km from from Karaikal. You can take a taxi or bus to reach Karaikal as these options are available outside the railway station.
