Candidates can seek admission for B.Tech, M.Tech and Ph.D. programmes at the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Puducherry by checking the required eligibility criteria and obtaining valid marks in the qualifying examination. The NIT Puducherry admission procedure for Ph.D. programmes is entirely based on the institute as the entrance examinations for specialisations in various departments is conducted by the institute and the candidates who are shortlisted in the entrance examination are eligible to appear for the personal interview round at NITPY.

• The students interested in pursuing B. Tech in NIT Puducherry must fill and submit the application form for JEE Main.
• After the release of the admit card, the students have to appear for the examination and secure qualifying marks in the same.
• The candidates then have to attend for the counselling rounds conducted by JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority) or under the CSAB (Central Seat Allocation Board).
• The candidates have to select NIT Puducherry as their first choice or preference and if the candidate meets the established cut-off of NITPY, then he/she will be allotted a seat in the institute.
• The candidate will have to appear for the document verification round conducted by the institute and after successful payment of fees, the candidate can begin with the B. Tech programme.

NIT Puducherry M.Tech Admissions

The institute offers total 5 M.Tech courses in different specialisations. The duration of M.Tech courses is 2 years and is divided into 4 semesters.

• The candidates must fill and submit the application form for GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) and secure qualifying marks in the same.
• The candidate who has cleared the GATE must appear for the CCMT counselling rounds, through which a seat will be allocated to the candidate on the basis of the merit scored.
• The candidate will have to pay the established fees of the M. Tech programme after verification of documents and begin with their respective course.

The institute offers many Ph.D courses in various specialisations. The duration of the Ph.D courses is 5 years.

NIT Puducherry Ph.D Admission Process

• The candidates interested in pursuing Ph.D. in NIT Puducherry must fill and submit the application form for Ph.D. in different specialisations.
• The candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of merit scored in M. Tech or any other equivalent degree.
• The department will release the list of shortlisted candidates for the entrance examination.
• After the candidates have cleared the entrance examination, they will appear for the interview round.
• The final selection of candidates will be based on the marks scored in Masters's degree, marks scored in the entrance examination and performance in the interview round.
• After the list of selected candidates for Ph.D. courses uploaded on the website, the candidates have to pay the required fees and submit mandatory documents.
