The FMS initial shortlist is solely based on CAT percentiles and marks

the CAT distribution is VARC-40%,DILR-30%,QA-30%

extra 5 marks to the composite score is added for female candidates.

So if your academics and profile is not too strong, just focus on the CAT ; try to score 99.9+ %ile and you are through because FMS gives very high weightage (approx 80%) to the CAT score in the final selection.

CAT has 3 sections QA, DLRI and VARC. The scaled scores of these 3 sections will be calculated to come up with a composite score. 30% weightage is given to QA section, 30% weightage is given to DLRI and 40% weightage is given to VARC. For example, if a Candidate has scored 76 in QA, 74 in DLRI and 65 in VARC, then the composite score will be calculated as: 76(30%) + 74(30%) + 65(40%). This is approximately 71 for a Male Candidate. And for promoting Gender Diversity, 3 marks are added to t his composite score for Female Candidates.
