On what basis are seats allotted for "CW" category students at FMS? Are "CW1" students preferred over "CW6" students irrespective of the later having higher score?

Priyaanka Sarkar Student Expert 15th Oct, 2019

There are 12 seats allotted for CW as a whole. Admission of Candidates belonging to CW Category has to be made in the priority of as per guidelines approved by the Academic Council In this regards, CW1 takes priority over CW6. But then its just not the entrance exam score that is taken into consideration but also previous academic record, academic diversity are also considered.

CAT 19 exam ka score card aane se phele hum. FMS New Delhi me admission ke liye apply kar skte hai kiya. I am that time a final student in b.com. and I doing cat 19 exam and can I can apply FMS new Delhi .

Priyaanka Sarkar Student Expert 21st Sep, 2019
Dear Vikram, FMS New Delhi will release their online application forms tentatively between October and December. Now CAT results will be released tentatively in the month of January. So interested Candidates can fill in the application form. So if you fulfill CAT eligibility criteria you can apply for FMS New Delhi. However Candidates will be shortlisted based on their CAT scores. However final selection will be based on Personal Interview, Group Discussion and CAT scores. FMS Delhi usually has the highest cut offs for its 200 seat intake. The selection process includes 3 stage method. They are:

Eligibility Criteria
Group Discussion and Personal Interview
Final Selection

The basic eligibility criteria remains 50% aggregate for General Category in Graduation and 45% for Reserved Categories or equivalent CGPA from any recognised University. The percentiles in CAT are considered for the further rounds. In 2018, the weightage given for various sections of CAT have been as follows:

QA: 30%

DILR: 30%

VARC: 40%
An additional 3 marks are added to the Composite score in case pf women for shortlisting. This score is used only for shortlisting Candidates for Personal Interview. The weightage for Final selection is as follows:

Personal Interview: 15%

CAT score: 60%

Group Discussion: 10%

Extempore: 5%

10th marks: 5%

12th marks: 5%

An additional 3 marks of the maximum aggregate will be added to the women candidates who have attended the Interview. Now with all this process, the cut offs is an important issue to be discussed. Previously FMS used to consider overall CAT score for shortlisting. However since the past 2 years, FMS has been giving sectional preference and weightage. VARC occupies the top position with 40% weightage. A Candidate with atleast 97 sectional weightage will be shortlisted at FMS. So it is important to focus more on VARC section while not leaving other sections. Higher cut offs are due to the intensity of the competition at FMS, Delhi. Their placements speak for themselves. FMS, Delhi concluded 2018 placemebts with an average placement package of 22.60 Lakhs for Women Candidates. Out of a batch of 223 Students, 215 participated in Placements and all of them have been placed there by leaving FMS, Delhi at the top in 100% Placement Companies. Though 133 companies participated in Hiring process, 83 companies could make the recruitment offers.

Hii..

As you ask about to which rank you will get iim other mention colleges so to get these colleges through simcat..
As here I am talking about IIM.. so different I am have different cutoff as a you are talking about simcat not cat so if you consistently scoring across 90 your simcat
then you  should score five more. In your actual cat to  get top colleges like IIM colleges.

My 10th,12th and grad is (76,90,73)% how much percentile in cat I need to get a call from iim kozhikode and fms Delhi. (NC-OBC)

Snehlata Sinha Student Expert 8th Sep, 2019
Hey,

As per 20172019 admission policy your break up will be as follows:

To get shortlisted for a interview call :

5.7 out of 7.5 for HSC

4.29 out of 7.5 for Graduation score.

1 out of 5 for Work Experience. (anything above 36 months gets you 1)

0 out of 5 for Academic and Gender diversity.

Rest 75 are for your CAT Score.

A decent 98 percentile might get you an interview call but converting the call will become difficult. As final shortlisting has a 35% weight to CAT score, rest being the PI and GD/ WAT scores along with work experience quality.

So, CAT score will be the real differentiating factor. Target anything above 99 and a decent WAT/ PI will sail you through IIMK
