Haldia Institute of Technology (HIT) is a private institute affiliated to Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT). This college offers B.Tech, M.Tech, MBA and MCA. It is accredited 'A’ grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation (NAAC).

The placement of this college is very good. Approximately 80 to 85 per cent students get placed every year. Top recruiting companies are TCS, Infosys, IBM, Ericsson India Pvt Ltd, Amazon, Parle Agro, Wipro and many more. Highest package is 40LPA.

In 2020 to 2021, 83 companies visited and 82 students were placed.  In 2019 to 2020, 100 companies visited and 82 students were placed.
