In India, various exams are conducted for taking admission to btech courses every year.

Most of the engineering aspirants start shortlisting colleges checking eligibility and course they decide to take admission after the results of Joint Entrance Examination.

Counselling is a standard process followed every year where colleges announced thier cutoffs and students are able to take admission in colleges.

Every state and college has different admission process. There are 3 rounds of JOSSA every year.

There are many entrance exams like UPSEE, MHT CET, OJEE, AP EAMCET, APJEE, GUJCET and HPCET. These are exams conducted at state level for taking admission in state level colleges. And each one provides admission on basis of JOSSA counselling.

The college provides merit list of students after each counselling. And as the rounds appear, the cutoffs get decreased and lesser seats are available.
