In 2017, the cutoff was 235 marks. In 2018, the cutoffs will vary with the difficulty level of the exam. The exact marks are supposed to be released in June itself. Do keep following the official BHU website.

As for hostel, if you are a resident of the same state as BHU, availing hostels might not be easy. Otherwise, hostels are allotted to students on the basis of merit, marks obtained in the entrance exams.  The application has to be done differently if you have a spouse or family staying with you.
