For getting into IIST, you need to clear both Jee mains and Advance. And you should have a rank below 1L.
It should be noted that IIST has its own counseling. So don't forget to register for it once your mains/advance ranks come out. Attested below is the link for more info.

Hi, for IIST you have to qualify the JEE Mains exams and should pass the JEE advance exam. On basis of rank priority there is admission in IIST.
