hey chanakya,

For becoming  Cardiologist  in US , you will have to appear for United States Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE). In USA, an Indian student after completion of MBBS cannot practice  directly .USMLE  is  conducted for providing license to the doctors to practice in USA.

The USMLE exam is divided into three steps. Step 1,Step 2 (CK and CS) and Step 3.

Indian doctors are eligible to appear for USMLE 1st Step after 2nd year of MBBS in India. The first medical License exam will have a major impact on the residency programs you are accepted into.

The remaining licensing exam are known as USMLE Step 2 and USMLE Step 3.

Hope this will help you

Hello aspirant,

In USA you cannot become a cardiologist, without your PG degree. You need to attend PG in India, or otherwise may do it in USA. After completion of PG, you have to attend USMLE exam i.e., United States Medical Licensing Examination. It consists of 3 steps. In Step 1, you need attempt for 300 MCQs, it is important to score good in the exam, as it shows major impact on your residency programme. In step 2, there are two exams, CK i.e. Clinical Knowledge and CS i.e.., Clinical skills. After that you need to give your step 3. It also consists of two steps, i.e.., FIP (Foundations of Independent Practice) and ACM (Advanced Clinical Medicine).

Hope this helps you,

Good luck, Thank you :)
