Hello!

So according to your rank in KCET you have good chances of getting admission into GIT in branches like ECE , EEE or CS and In KLE you have chances of getting mechanical or civil branches. Make sure to attend later rounds of the counselling as well to get better branch.

The KLE Technological University is slightly better than GIT because it has better academics , ecosystem and placement support. While GIT also have good infrastructure and placement opportunities but not as KLE have.

Hello Aspirant,

With your KCET GM Rank of 26,315, you should keep both KLE Technological University Hubballi (KLE Tech) and Gogte Institute of Technology Belgaum (GIT) in your considerations; however, you should be advised of the following:

  1. Both KLE Tech and GIT are on par academically and have decent to good infrastructures respective.
  2. KLE Tech, however, has way better reputation in terms of innovative curriculum, industry tie ups (i.e. IBM, Bosch, etc) and placements, especially in CS/IT relevant branches.
  3. GIT Belgaum has a very good academic base and it has good infrastructure but comparatively way less industry exposure in comparison to KLE Tech.

Most Likely Admission:

  • GIT Belgaum - Good chance on core branches (ECE, EEE, ME, Civil).
  • KLE Tech - Very unlikely for CSE/ISE at your GM Rank but may be later rounds for EEE, Civil, or ECE.

Hello Sonia

With a rank of 26,315 in KCET (GM Category), you have a strong possibility of getting both the colleges except the top branches. The cutoff trend has shown that at around 26,000 you can get the core branches like chemical, civil and mechanical in these colleges.

Now coming to the question of which is the better college, both are well established and reputed colleges but GIT Belgaum ranks higher than KLE Technology of Engineering Belgaum and its placement report is also better.

Both KLE Technological University and GIT Belgaum are reputed engineering colleges in North Karnataka.

  • KLE Technological University, Hubli: Known for better infrastructure, innovation labs, and startup ecosystem. Industry tie-ups are increasing, and it's slowly gaining national recognition.
  • GIT Belgaum: Has strong alumni network and consistent placement support, especially in traditional engineering branches like Mechanical, Civil, and CS.

With 26,315 KCET rank in GM, you may have a better chance at GIT Belgaum, but KLE (lower branches like Civil/Mech) may also be possible in later rounds.

Keep checking the official KEA website and be flexible with your choice of branch.

All the best,

Thank you.
