On the basis of the previous year's cutoff I feel that you are eligible for getting a seat in NIT Puducherry(in Home State Quota). Your branch of engineering may have to be compromised though.

It's disheartening to tell you that you can't bag a seat in NIT with that score even if you are OBC. After cut off you need to score at least 20 marks more to grab a seat at NIT Puducherry.

sorry to say but securing a seat in NIT puducherry with 55 marks is not possible.

Even for a sc/st category student it is tough to get NIT at that score.

But don't be disappointed if you do not get nit, still you can take a drop year (depending on how many attempts you've made earlier) and work hard and get admission to college of your choice.

Or you can take admission, in various private colleges and government colleges too depending on your AIR and there admission criteria.
