If you have completed your 12th class with commerce and want to work as a Train Ticket Examiner in Indian Railways, it is absolutely possible. TTEs are recruited through competitive exams conducted by the Railway Recruitment Board. The most common exam for this role is RRB NTPC.
Education: 12th pass in any stream.
Age: 18 to 30 years.
Nationality: Indian citizen.
The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) releases TTE vacancies under the RRB NTPC notification. It is released region-wise. Visit www.rrbcdg.gov.in (http://www.rrbcdg.gov.in) or your region's RRB website regularly for updates.
Once notification is released, register and fill the online application form and Upload necessary documents like photograph, signature, and ID proof, Pay the exam fee.
The TTE selection under RRB NTPC generally includes:
Stage 1: CBT 1 (Prelims) Topics: General Awareness, Mathematics, Reasoning Duration: 90 minutes
Stage 2: CBT 2 (Mains) Similar subjects, with higher difficulty level Duration: 90 minutes
Stage 3: Document Verification & Medical Test Based on your score and cut-off, you’ll be called for document verification.
In some cases, a skill or typing test may be required for certain posts.
After clearing all stages, candidates are allotted the post of TTE based on merit and preference. Selected candidates go through training before joining officially.
