Hello aspirant!! If you are getting IPU then I would suggest you to take admission. But if you believe in yourself and want to take admission in IITs or good NITs then take a drop of one year. I believe that you can do this. But if are satisfied with IPU then also it is okay, it is also a good college. Its all upto you. All the best!!

Hi Rounak,
This completely depends on your ambitions. IPU can never match the standards of IITs and NITs. However to drop a year involves some amount of risk and total dedication form your part. IPU has average placements, and studies are also good. If you're not satisfied with the placements, you can apply for GATE and work hard to get PSU jobs or go for Masters in reputed colleges. There are surely chances in the future too if not at the undergrauate level. But a degree from the IITs would be a big boost in your career.
Choose wisely. All the best!
