With an All India Rank (AIR) of 70,590 in NEET PG 2025, options for clinical branches in government medical colleges are very slim. Here’s a realistic picture:
Pre-clinical: Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry
Para-clinical: Pharmacology, Microbiology, Forensic Medicine, Community Medicine
Diploma seats (in some states/private colleges): Diploma in Anesthesia, Child Health, Ophthalmology (limited chances, mostly private)
At this rank, government seats are difficult for MD/MS Clinical branches. You will mostly find options in pre/para-clinical departments in government medical colleges.

You can get clinical seats (like Pathology, Microbiology, Community Medicine, Psychiatry, Anesthesia, ENT, Dermatology in some cases) in private or deemed universities, though tuition fees will be higher.
High seat states like Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, and Uttar Pradesh may still have availability in pre/para-clinical at this rank.
States with fewer PG seats (like North-East states, Himachal, Uttarakhand) will have very low chances.
With a NEET PG rank of 70,590 in 2025, it will be difficult to get a clinical branch in top government colleges. But you still have chances in non-clinical branches like Anatomy, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Microbiology, and Physiology in some state government or private colleges depending on your category and state quota.
For state quota seats, the cutoff is usually a bit lower, so you may get opportunities in states where competition is less intense like Odisha, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, or some North-East states. In deemed/private colleges, you will have more chances in both clinical (like pathology, community medicine) and non-clinical subjects, but the fee structure is high.
I would suggest you to keep checking state-wise counselling cutoffs, because sometimes students with higher ranks also get seats in less demanded branches. Also, participate in all rounds of counselling including mop-up, as seats may remain vacant.
