If you want to go for m tech, my personal suggestion would be no colleges other than IIT or NIT.

You should work one year very hard, get a good score in GATE and surely you will get into these best colleges.

In the Era of this much competition level, it is impossible to get good College without Scoring good in GATE Exam. Every Good engineering college take admission only on basis of GATE Score.
Few engineering college conducts their own entrance exam.
But don't lose hope, you can take direct admission on basis of B.Tech. Percentage in some private university but it will cost you approximately 3.5 Lakh per year.
