Hello there,

With a 36 percentile in JEE Mains , securing admission into COEP (College of Engineering, Pune) is highly unlikely. COEP is a prestigious institute with competitive cutoffs, usually requiring significantly higher percentiles.

General Information:

  • COEP Cutoffs : Typically, COEP’s cutoffs for various branches are quite high, often in the range of 90+ percentile .

  • Alternative Options : You might consider exploring other engineering colleges with lower cutoffs or looking into private institutions and state-level colleges where the competition might be less intense.

Recommendations:

  • Check College Cutoffs : Look for specific cutoff trends from previous years for COEP.

  • Consider Other Colleges : Apply to other engineering colleges where the cutoffs are within your percentile range.

For admission to COEP, a much higher percentile is generally required, so focusing on other viable options would be advisable.

Yes, as a student pursuing a Diploma in Computer Engineering from Jammu, you are generally eligible for lateral entry into a B.Tech program. Lateral entry schemes typically allow diploma holders to enter directly into the second year of a B.Tech course, provided they meet specific eligibility criteria set by the universities or colleges.

Here are some common eligibility requirements:

  1. Minimum Marks : Most institutions require a minimum percentage in your diploma course, usually around 50-60%.

  2. Entrance Exams : Some universities or states may require you to take an entrance exam specifically for lateral entry admissions, such as the Lateral Entry Entrance Test (LEET) or other state-level exams.

  3. Accredited Diploma : Ensure your diploma is from a recognized institution or board.

  4. Relevant Stream : Your diploma should be in a relevant engineering stream, which in your case, Computer Engineering, aligns well with a B.Tech in Computer Science or related fields.

Check specific requirements of the institutions you are interested in and prepare accordingly. This pathway can effectively bridge your diploma studies with a full-fledged engineering degree.

hope this helps you!!

The infrastructure of the college is old since British raaj. It's really very peaceful to roam around the campus with your friends while enjoying the greenery of the campus. It has many old buildings and main building is one of them.
