Hello candidate,

The nationalism in India started during the British period in the 19th century and till the 20th century, where great people like Mahatma Gandhi, Subhash Chandra Bose, Bhagat Singh, and others formed several alliances and organised movements to demand independence from the British government.

In the nationalism movement, people from different language to groups irrespective of their status and caste participated in large numbers appealling in the unity of an independent nation, which subsequently led to the independence in 1947.

Hope it helps!!
