The only gateway to take admissions in the prestigious Indian Institutes of Technologies (IITs) is JEE ADVANCED. It is Very complicated to predict which of these top institutes you one can get along with the engineering courses of his/her preference.

The highest number of seats are being offered by IIT Kharagpur followed by IIT Varanasi and IIT Roorkee . Admission to the IITs are done on the basis of JoSAA counselling and the total number of seats in IITs are allocated on merit basis keeping the reservation policy in mind.

In 2019, a total of 13674 seats were occupied for the IITs. While the real number of seats is about 12,432, from 2018 supernumerary seats are also added for female candidates as well as 10% quota for EWS candidates, which has gone up . For 2020, the number of seats are expected to rise marginally.

IITs are the premium engineering institutions in India. IITs are known for their excellent education and also for their placement records. They have a history of providing best placements in the country. Recently three students of IIT Roorkee bagged a package of INR 1.54 crore which was the highest package received by any IITian till date.
