See IITs, NITs and other government colleges are having their Own modes of admission i.e. entrance examination. JEE Advanced rank is entitled to get admission in IITs. Though one needs to qualify JEE Main to be eligible to write JEE Advanced. JEE Main rank is used to get admission in NITs, IIITs and other government colleges accepting it. Hence, if you don't qualify JEE Advanced then your admission in NITs, IIITs and other government colleges will done based on JEE Main rank. Hope you understand. If you did not qualify in the JEE advance then you are eligible for all the colleges except IITs .The admission to NITs is done on your JEE main rank or percentile. The higher your rank the higher the chances of getting into a good NIT college.
