Your 12th class percentage would be considered everywhere in your life where ever you go because while taking the admission in the college your JEE mains marks would be considered and 75% marks criteria for the boards is also considered in it so they are important.

Class 12th percentage matters a lot if you want to take admissions in NITs/IIITs/IITs/GFTIs.To be eligible to get admission in these colleges you have to score a minimum of 75% in 12th or be in top 20 percentile of your respective board.For other private engineering colleges 60% in your 12th board will be enough for being eligible for admission.

The class 12 percentage is the eligibility criteria apart from JEE Main rank for admissions to NITs, IITs, IIITs and CFTIS. You should get either 75% if you belong to Gen/OBC & 65% for reserved categories OR be in the top 20 percentile of your class 12th board.
