I am assuming that you are giving improvement exam to secure 75% and above in boards.
If so, you can go for improvement and apply for jee mains, you will be eligible. You can study for JEE and Boards simultaneously, provided you remove all distractions from your life.
But keep in mind that it is CUMPOLSARY to give improvement of all FIVE subjects if you want to be eligible for iit, nit, and iiit's.
