Candidates must have passed Class 12 or equivalent from a recognized board with an aggregate of at least 50% marks (45% for reserved category candidates) to pursue BSc in Food Technology.
Admission to food technology courses is done based on marks scored in the entrance exam, which can be an all India exam or an exam held specifically by the Institute.

Indian Institute of Crop Processing Technology conducts entrance examination, called IICPT, to enrol students to undergraduate food technology courses offered by it.

Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) is a common entrance exam conducted at the national level to secure admission into undergraduate food technology courses offered by reputable colleges in India.
