Hi

As per your question according to the data CSE has better placement than Civil because in CSE branch,

all kinds of school , private or government, has better placement record.

But if we mention CE then only good private and government college has placement record of 70%.

But if we mention government job then CE is within the top position from the other engineering branch.

So I suggest you to travel thereupon branch which you wish most otherwise you have an interest therein

area.

If you study well then you get placed in every branch.

Civil engineering having huge opportunities specially in govt sector and there's no comparison with

computing engineering. Its true that you simply would get good salary immediately after computing but

you would like to think about that the competition market is extremely high. But over the years together

with your expertise and skills you'll get good jump in engineering too.

Hope helpful.

Hey aspirant,

It depends on the interest. If someone has more interest in the filed of computer science than obviously , computer science would be better in comparison to all engineering fields not just Civil engineering.

Civil engineering: It is not only bridges or buildings construction. It is a professional engineering discipline that deals with the design, construction, and maintenance of the physical and naturally built environment, including works like roads, bridges, canals, dams, airports, sewerage systems, pipelines and railways.

- Decent jobs in government sectors but heavy competition, so you dedicate 2-3 years after b.tech for ESE/GATE preparation

- PSU’S JOBS -If you get 500 below rank in gate

- ESE - 190+ every year

- SSC -180+ every year

- state psc requirement for 2–3 years

But if you get government job, you will have a secure job and future with good amount of salary and pension.

Computer engineering: It is a discipline that integrates several fields of electrical engineering and computer science required to develop computer hardware and software.

- Ofcampus opportunities for computer science far more than Civil.

- A Brilliant guy in C. S department might pull a salary offer worth 1 crore but same does not apply to civil where 8–9 LPA is considered high end.

- Almost 100% students if they have some skill get placement in campus or outside campus in C. S .

- The only advantage Civil has is more recruitment in PSU’s as compared to CS but you have to score well in GATE for the same.

- Course is much flexible.

Based on current situation in India, to settle early and immediately after graduation Computer science is better option.

It is advisable that do your degree from a well known university and that provides prime placement opportunity, outstanding exposure and professional enhancement training.

Hii,

In today's scenario the demand for computer science is always increasing. Everything is being digitalized and all data's are stored online. Even normal working people now have to have knowledge about computers. It is a very important field and it's importance will keep increasing in today's scenario. But there is a lot of competition on this field , so getting a good job in this field is going to be difficult, you will have to be very good to get a good job with a good salary.

On the other hand in Civil engineering, the number of civil engineers are also increasing drastically. Also since it's a developing field and very less people are there , there's a lot is scope here. Also it would be easier to get a good job with good salary and stability.

Hope my answer helps.

In between computer science engineering and civil engineering for government jobs point of view surely a civil engineering is good and in high paying private IT jobs point of view , computer science engineering is good. So both the fileds are good but for civil services you must do civil engineering and prepare for IES exam, from there you we'll get a officer government jobs in civil fields. Hope this helps to you, best of luck for your future and Thank you !!!
