The counselling for the seats will be done by DME, Tamil Nadu  for the state. They will call the students on the basis of the state merit rank. The state merit rank is the rank you have got in the state itself (it is calculated from AIR). You will be called for counselling based on your AIR however if there are seats that you can get in the college (During counselling) because of your category rank then your admission will be based on the category rank.
