The only on-screen calculator that CAT permits use is a simple one. It is not permitted for you to bring the actual calculator into the center. This approach is predicated on the idea that the CAT assesses an individual's aptitude for solving challenging mathematical puzzles and making fast mental computations.

You will be allowed to use a basic on screen calculator only in CAT exam.

You will not be allowed to take a physical calculator inside the examination hall which means you are not allowed to bring your personal calculator.

This is as per the policy based on the premise that the CAT examines ones Ability to answer complicated questions .

One should be able to perform quick mental calculations and mathematical problems .

Only for intensive calculations you must use the calculator.
