In 1954, Sri Venkateswara University (SVU) was founded in Tirupati. The university occupies an area of 1,000 acres. The late Sri Tanguturi Prakasam Pantulu created SVU Tirupati. It is an Andhra Pradesh state university that is situated in Tirupati. Six departments of chemistry, physics, mathematics, botany, zoology, economics, and philosophy were initially present at the institution.
