First of you should know that now a days there is very limited jobs for civil engineers. So it is not recommended for civil if you want to join job early.

but if you want for a government job then civil engineering is very well.

There are lots of gov jobs available .

No colleges including NIT and IIT have a good placement in CIVIL engineering so don't expect for placement .

After graduation you can appear in gate or mba or prepare for upsc.
