If you're fortunate, you might end up in a PSU; but, if you're average, you should have no trouble finding work at any of the construction companies, like Punj Lloyd, Gammon, L&T, etc. If you're unlucky, you can find yourself working for an IT company.

Now, in NIT, you get many companies coming for placement and you can even sit for IT jobs also in placement time in NIT Hamirpur.

For state colleges, placement are low and even companies are low to offer jobs in that colleges.

For safe side for your future, choose civil in NIT Hamirpur and if you interested in IT then side by side you can prepare that.
