It is not compulsory to open a SBI account. You can also pay the fee through other bank.

But if you open SBI then you don't feel any problem , it is the number one bank in India:

You will get the benefite of

1. Scholarship ( acc neeeded)

2.Fee remission (if eligible)

3.Fee payment to college/mess.
