The research programs offered at the Department at the level of Masters (MSc Biotechnology and MTech Bioinformatics) are highly competitive and enjoy significant demand in biomedical, pharma and information technology sectors. A large number of students each year qualify for higher research programs within the University or elsewhere in India; a good proportion of meritorious students pursue further research in different laboratories overseas. The Department offers the Ph.D. degree in Biotechnology and an integrated MSc-PhD in Biotechnology and also participates actively in managing and mentoring the Integrated Master's course (IMSc) in Systems Biology.
