Yes,VIT University is good for M.Tech.You can complete your M.Tech over here.

VIT University is ranked as AAAA+ it means that it is an outsatnding one!

VIT is having a good name in holding excellent placement records!.VIT is good in for M.Tech.

But even if you waste one year for GATE try to achieve admission in IIT Or NIT.If you can't achieve? then don't waste one year for GATE!

My suggestion to join in VIT University rather than wasting one year for GATE, again if you don't get admission in NIT or IIT that one year is completely wasted!

Obviously VIT isn't as good when compared to the various IITs for M.Tech. If you believe you couldn't perform to your full potential and may crack GATE in the next attempt, you should give it one more try (not more than that), but otherwise VIT is also good for M.Tech.

I t depends what you are looking for.
If you want job then depends in which field you want to do Mtech in. Check placements at vit.ac.in .
Now comes are you really passionate about it ?
If yes,then go for it as you will get lots and lots of opportunities at VIT.
If No,then try gate next year and get into IIT or equivalent.
It's a mix reaction for me .You will get opportunities at placements but again it depends on the field.You need to grab every single opportunity and you will do great.
