Some years back VIT offered lateral entry for diploma students. Vellore Institute conducted entrance exam VITEEE for lateral entry admission into 2nd year of engineering after completion of diploma in engineering course.

But, now  you can't take admission in lateral entry, as VIT does not offer admission through Lateral Entry. Admission is only offered in the first year of     B. Tech and that too through VITEEE.

Unfortunately , a lateral entry is not possible in any of the VITs. Admission is possible only through direct entry for every course . The direct entry is possible in second year.

You must appear for VITEEE exam and apply for direct entry in the first year .
