The admission to B. Tech course at IITs is based mainly on the marks scored and the AIR achieved in JEE Mains, followed by JEE Advanced. Thus, for B. Tech, you need to appear for JEE.

Students seeking admission in courses other than B. Tech have so many options to enter IITs. Students desirous of doing M. Tech in IIT can get admission through GATE while admission in management programs is through CAT. All these entrance exams are national tests, with a large number of applicants. Admission in humanities, social sciences and other interdisciplinary programs in IITs is through the institute-level entrance exams, conducted by the institutes respectively.

Jee main is a mandatory  exam to study btech in India. But some private universities conduct their own respective entrance exams for admissions. Like:
BITS
VIT
SRM
AMITY
LPU
SOA
KIIT
These exams are relatively easier than jee exam .Also these colleges have good academics and placement. And there are many more colleges which admit you without jee marks but with only their respective  exams .
There are also state level entrance exams . You can take admission in your home state by only appearing your state's entrance exam. They are also easier than jee mains.
