I would like to inform you that there is an availability of Master of Engineering course in Metallurgy at Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, Vadodara.


A two year Master Degree program in Welding Technology is being offered from the year 2006 at the Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, Maharaja Sayajirao University of Technology, Baroda. This is a special Industry oriented, Industry supported program sponsored by Larsen and Toubro Limited.


There is an intake of approximately fifteen students for this course every year. Around four of them may be sponsored by Larsen and Toubro as paid scholarship or stipend during the duration of the course and absorbed in Larsen and Toubro on successful completion of the course provided that the candidates meet the required criteria.


The eligibility criteria for non sponsored students are as follows:

- A Candidate should have successfully completed the Bachelor of Engineering or Bachelor of Technology in Metallurgical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering or Mechatronics Engineering.

- He or she must have secured a minimum of 55% aggregate in the above-mentioned degree.


The eligibility criteria for sponsored students are as follows:

- A candidate should have passed matriculation with a minimum of 70% marks in the first attempt.

- A candidate should have passed intermediate with a minimum of 70% marks in the first attempt.

- No year gap between matriculation and intermediate.

- 70% aggregate marks or above in Diploma Engineering if available.

- A minimum of 65% aggregate or equivalent CGPA in B.E/B.TECH course.

- No drop in any semester or year throughout B.E/B.TECH course.

- Age not more than twenty-five years.

- Medical standards to be met as per company policy.
