My question is that is the pass criteria applicable for admission in nit/iiit/gfti as well and if it is will the same be applicable for me if I appear as a dropper of 2020 in jee 2021 will this(pass irrespective of % and percentile ) criteria be applicable for me during admission if i crack jee main

Hi aspirant,

Yes the passing criteria which is applicable in the year 2020 will be same if you write JEE Main and Advanced in the year 2021 as a dropper to get admission in the premier institute like IITs, NITs and GFTIs. Only one thing will change:

For considering you to be in top 20 percentile, if needs be, they will consider the marks they have decided in the year 2020 and not in the year 2021 since you passed your higher secondary examination in 2020. Others factors will same provided there is no sudden change like Covid19 pendemic.

Are you sir and sir please tell me about the top 20 percentile system of nit will it be applicable for 2021 or will they consider only pass? PLZZ reply sir

Samrat Dutta A candidate needs to be in top 20 percentile if in case he has percentage less than 75 to be eligible for admission. In your case they will check the top 20 percentile list of the year in which you passed+2 examination irrespective of the year in which you are appearing for examination.

Kamal Kishor Chaurasiya But you mentioned earlier that they will only see if I passed in my exams so what if I don't pass won't they give me admition you said that they would just consider pass if I appear as a dropper?

Samrat Dutta It is obvious that if you don't pass the examination they won't admit you.

Kamal Kishor Chaurasiya I meant to say that if I pass the examination but don't get in the top 20 percentile won't they consider me for admission in nit after qualifying jee mains in the year 2021 as a dropper ? And yes I haven't got 75% either

Samrat Dutta Yes you will get admission if you get 75% or more.
You have to fulfill any one of the criteria.

Samrat Dutta No...i didn't mean that.
I meant if you pass the exam with any of eligibility criteria (either getting 75+ percentage or being in top 20 percentile).

Kamal Kishor Chaurasiya I asked you that if I just pass without getting 75 or top 20 percentile and qualify jee mains in 2021 as a dropper will they give me admission as they will be giving in 2020 and u said that the pass criteria I.e irrespective of percentage and percentile will be applicable in that year too so why is that top 20 percentile and 75% coming here?they told that they won't consider % or percentile so won't they give me admission even if I qualify in jee main 2021?

Samrat Dutta No you must be having either 75+ percentage or in top 20 percentile criteria to be eligible for admission.
