According to your son's rank in jee, he can try for state colleges like Maharashtra, M. P. or any other state.
Yes your son can crack IPU if he works hard.
Coming up on BITSAT, well it's a tough exam, and different from jee too. So chances can be less. But yes if he has done great preparation then he can crack this exam too.

Yes sir, there are many engineering colleges who take admission on the basis of there own entrance or class 12 result.
And if he perform good in BITSAT then he can definately get admission there.
