In most of the government colleges of India, there is a special reservation of about 85% of the seats reserved for the students belonging to the same state or domicile holders of the same state. Moreover, the counselling is first done on the basis of all India rank and the category rank later comes into play when seats for specific reserved criteria have to be filled.
