Hi, Incase you are interested in structural engineering  you will have to work hard only if you are seriously interested in all structural stuff. They will hire a fresher only if they see some potential in you. But for your information there is a lot of money in this. From BITS the package you can expect can be decent. You don't have to worry about your placement if you are a good performer in the campus. Good Luck.
