Sorry to dishearten you. Not possible if you want good branch. The closing rank even for category is given on the basis of GMR/PMR that is General Merit Rank.So suppose you are a general candidate, to get CSE in Jadavpur University the closing rank was (GMR rank 153) in 2017. But if you are a OBC-NCL category the closing rank required was GMR 784(general merit rank not your obc rank)

Dear Imanur,

As per last year cutoff of jadavpur University for Machanical engineering you will not get admission in jadavpur University even in OBC-A category.

But you can get admission in chemical engineering and electronics and instrumentation engineering in jadavpur University.
