I don't think that having backlogs will create a problem as far as Google and Microsoft are concerned, provided that you will complete your degree before joining. They are concerned more with the candidate's programming skills than their GPA or backlogs for that matter. Both the companies are least bothered about what is in your college transcript, when they can screen you thoroughly with their tough hiring process.

Don't be worried you will be getting placements even if you have backlogs.You need not worry about it.
