Having a year back in your BTech usually won’t stop you from getting placed during your MTech campus placements at IIT Bombay. Companies mostly focus on your current skills, performance, and MTech academics. However, some companies may ask about your academic history, so be honest and explain what you learned from that experience. Work hard in your MTech, build strong skills, and prepare well for interviews. Your year back doesn’t define your future opportunities.

Generally most of good companies demand students who don't have backlog. And even some demands that you need not to have more than a specified gap in whole education.  So, you may not be able to sit in some of top companies. So try to clear the backlog as soon as possible
