With your rank in JEE Mains and also you are from General Category, you have very less chances of getting core branches in the NITs and IIITs.
You can get seat in the newer NITs and IIITs for branches like production engineering, biomedical engineering, mining, mettalurgy, etc. You can try for the NITs like NIT Srinagar, NIT Mizoram, NIT Surat, NIT Arunachal for some core branches like civil, ECE but the chances are very less.

Please go for all the rounds of JOSAA counseling and also the CSAB spot round so as to further increase your chances of getting a better seat.

Hello, as you have not mentioned your category so I am assuming you to be in general category.
At this rank your chances of getting any top Nit,IIIT looks not possible.

And at this rank you may get north eastern Nit like Sikkim, Nagaland with lower branches like civil mechanical engineering.

Wait till last round of Csab counseling and apply for Csab counseling after Jossa counseling.
