Fee Waiver depends upon you family income.

For OBC and Gen-EWS category 100 percent tuition fee waiver is present in case his/her annual family income is less than 1 Lakh Per Annum. In case his/her annual family income is less than 5 Lakh Per Annum but greater than 1 Lakh Per Annum then he/she may be eligible for partial tuition fee waiver.

If you do not lie in those two categories then there will not be any waiver in your tuition fees.

Dear aspirant,

Fee remission is provided on the basis of family annual income. The criteria is as follows:-

1- If your family annual income is less than 1 L per annum then full tuition fees will be remitted.

2- If your family annual income is between 1L - 5L then 2/3 rd of the tuition fees is remitted.

It is only for sc - st students just on the basis of category full tuition fees will be remitted.

Fees structure for B.E/ B.Tech courses in Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay for varies Caste Category is given below.

General: Rs. 9.08 Lakhs for 4 years

Scheduled Caste: Rs. 1.08 Lakhs for 4 years

Scheduled Tribe: Rs. 1.08 Lakhs for 4 years

Other Backward Caste: Rs. 9.08 Lakhs for 4 years

As you can see there is no difference in fees for General Category candidates and OBC category candidates. But if your parents income is less than 1 Lakh per annum then you can apply for fees reimbursement. If you are eligible then they will give reimbursement.
