Both St. Xavier's college and Jadavpur University takes into account only the marks obtained in tge Science subjects in Higher secondary examination.
E.g in sxc for physics, they give you a score out of 500 (3*physics + 2*mathematics) and the candidates are selected on the basis of this score. In chemistry they give a score out of 400 (3*chemistry and 1*mathematics). In mathematics sxc conducts an interview or admission test which is given 20% weightage and the marks obtained in Maths in board exams is given 80% weightage. For computer science, (2*maths + 1*physics + 1*overall) is considered.
In JU marks obtained in Science and Maths in Class 10 exam is also taken into account along the marks in PCM in HS.
