Assuming you are from Open category and have Chandigarh quota, Chances are favourable but you have to keep trying upto spot round.

I am a student of CCET CSE, final year, I had 144 marks and 92% in boards Rank: 38161, I was offered every branch in UIET except CSE (Was short by 100–200 rank as last seat in spot round got filled, I was standing in the queue and it was taken by the guy just in front of me, *silent heart break* (kidding, life must go on lads), So finally attended CCET (CSE). But this was in 2013)

Anyway if you do not want to compromise with the CSE branch then CCET would be your best bet (It is transforming gradually, faculty is permanent now and they’ve turned stricter, in upcoming years it’ll be a good place to be at.) placements is an issue as faculty takes no pain AT ALL! to get the students placed even from CSE, but if the placement and good/chilled environment is your focus opt for ECE in UIET (you could still do programming /coding on your own and sit for CSE placements, you just need to have caliber)

Lastly I know it sounds insane and utterly stupid but if you have confidence in yourself and earning a good package is your ultimate goal do consider Chitkara Rajpura you’ll be amazed by the list of companies that visit their campus for recruitment. If you got the skills you can easily bag 10–15 Lakh package (just on the basis of your coding skills) I’m telling you this because the place where I’m currently interning (as of Jan 2017, for 6 months) have people from Chitkara Rajpura who are just their to pass time and will leave by end of 6 months as they already have 10 and 12 lakh package from companies like SAP, Amazon etc. BUT CAUTION: YOU NEED TO WORK HARD TO GET THAT, else same old story 3.5 lakh at Infosys and trust me it is excruciating.

Good Luck and don’t lose heart, keep trying, college is just a tag you can do wonders being in some good colleges instead of top colleges.
