expected cut of for IIMs in CAT 18 for admission year 2019-21 is 98 percentile with minimum past academic scores of approx 80 percent in above in your 10th, 12th, and graduation. If you have a work ex also this would also help you in getting some brownie points over placement in the college.

Getting into IIM Ahmedabad is a two-step process. The first process of selection will be done according to CAT score and profile and the second process of conversion requires your CAT score, profile, and AWT-PI marks. 

Generally, the declared CAT cutoff is 80 percentile for GENERAL candidates, 75 percentile for NC-OBC, 70 percentile for SC and 60 percentile for ST, with sectional cut-offs as well. 

However, to actually get a call for a GENERAL and ENGINEER candidate you must look for 99.7+ percentile in CAT with sectional cut-offs being taken care off. However, with academic diversity and for reserved category, the percentile required to get a call may fall to 97 percentile as well.

IIM A being one of the best B-school in India, always look for candidates with an excellent profile (90, 90and 85+ in 10th, 12th and undergrad). So, any deviation from thereof needs to be complemented by an increase in percentile.
